We went to visit a new mall, Senayan City to buy the Baroness some lighter sneakers. I packed a pair from Baby Gap, but they were deemed unacceptable and always resulted in tears when I tried to put them on her feet. She did have to wear them to the mall and they didn't impede her trying out a booster seat in the Mothercare store.  

Most department stores have some toys out for children to play with while their parents spend money. In Debenhams, they even had staff willing to play along!
